Quinton Allen VanWeerd, beloved husband, father, brother and friend passed away on October 3, 2023. Quinton was born on June 13, 1964 in Salt Lake City to Fred and Maretta VanWeerd. He served in the Florida Fort Lauderdale mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On September 9, 1994 he married his sweetheart, Tami Duncan, in the Salt Lake Temple. He loved and honored her.
Quinton was a hard worker and took pride in a job well done and the ability to provide for his family. His four sons were his pride and joy and he taught them faith, hard work, service and how to have fun. Quinton loved fishing, camping and playing golf. His happiest days were spent in any of these activities with his family.
Quinton loved people and could make new friends wherever he went. He had a soft heart and spent many hours serving and blessing others. Through life lessons he learned of the love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He tried every day to share that love with those around him. He was a truly Christlike person.
Quinton was kind and good and he treated everyone like a dear friend. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Tami, sons Derek, Ryan, Jacob (Amy) and Devan, his brothers Fred (Ann), Mitchell (Karen) and Troy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maretta, and his brothers Kenneth and James.
Services will be held at the church house in Trenton, 400 West 1200 North, with a viewing Monday, October 9 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing preceding from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
