Richard Glade Brough passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. He was in his favorite chair, with his dog Zip, on his lap. Glade, as most knew him by, was born on March 1, 1940 in Trenton, Utah to Thomas William Brough and Bessie Winn Brough. He grew up in Trenton and went to elementary school in Trenton, Junior High in Lewiston and graduated High School from North Cache in Richmond.
Growing up, Glade enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling. He served in the Army National Guard from 1962-1968. He married Laura Simmonds Brough, on June 25, 1976. Glade loved watching his girls clog and play soccer. He was the beloved team dad who drove a van loaded with his daughters’ soccer teammates all over the region.
He worked for Jack B Parson for over 40 years and was loaned out to the railroad for 1 year working with the loader. He had been serving on the Trenton Town Council for the past several years. He was most recently the councilman over roads, which he took great pride in.
He is survived by his wife Laura, his daughters Meghan Brough Downs (Jason), Tiffany Brough Wood (Trenton), and Tina West, as well as his sister Beverly Veibell. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Brough, his parents, and many friends. He had 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Cornish Cemetery on Saturday, November 24th at 11 a.m. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at the Cornish/Trenton Church. Upon Glade’s wishes, there will be no formal viewing or funeral service. Funeral services are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary. 435-787-8514, 80 West 4200 North, Hyde Park Utah.
