Robert Bruce Lennberg

July 10, 1937 — May 9, 2016

Robert Bruce Lennberg, aka Bruce, Dad, Grandpa Lennberg and Grandpa Bruce was born on July 10, 1937 to Francis Glenn and Ada Arvilla Oldham Lennberg. He returned to their waiting arms on May 9, 2016 while in his home in Hyrum, UT. Bruce had love to go around and many to return his love. He is survived by his wife Rela Amy Walker Lennberg whom he married on January 10, 1987, his brother Don (Donna) Lennberg , his sister Sharon (Robert) Margetts, eight children: Julie (Robert) Covington, Margene Elliott, Cale (Vieng) Lennberg, Lana Lennberg, Ben Lennberg, Leona (AJ) Candelaria, Glenn (Leah) Lennberg and Lynn Lennberg. He had five step-children whom he treated as his own: Trina (Jay) Howard, Cindy (Kevin) McAllister, Mike (Michelle) Davis, Diane (Wade) Geary, and Alina (Mark) Pringle. He was the proud grandfather to 38 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Bruce grew up in Midvale UT and graduated from Jordan High School in 1956. Later he continued his education and studied photography at the University of Utah. He had a love for cars and shared fun memories of tinkering with and driving around in his Chevy and motorcycles. His joy of tinkering and mechanical aptitude together with Rela’s business leadership helped them to build their business, Quality Typewriter. For forty years he repaired typewriters and office equipment along the Wasatch Front. He loved to joke with all the secretaries, who were quite happy each time he arrived to save the day. No matter what name Bruce went by, he was a loving, kind and generous man. We remember his homemade bread, cookies, home cooked chicken and mashed potatoes along with watching war movies in his banana chair. He loved sharing his jars of green olives and enjoyed outings to get a bleu cheeseburger with his kids. Bruce dabbled in the apothecary and loved the science and art of natural healing. He had a cure in mind for most ailments and enjoyed many trips with his wife relaxing at the hot springs and relishing their healing properties.Throughout his life, Bruce enjoyed serving in many church callings, including many years of service in the Jordan River and Logan Temples. This service brought him much peace and joy. Bruce and Rela moved to Hyrum to retire and met some of their closest, kindest and dearest friends and ward members there. The family would like to extend a word of sincere love and appreciation for their friendship. Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the LDS Church located at 245 Apple Drive, Hyrum, UT with viewings to be held from 8:30-9:30 AM that day and on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same place. Interment at Sandy City Cemetery: 700 East 9000 South, Sandy UT at 2:00 PM on May 14th.
