Rodney Hauser Jones

September 5, 1933 — September 25, 2022

Providence, UT. Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend passed away on September 25, 2022 at the age of 89 years. Born September 5, 1933 to Evan Parley Jones and Veda Pearl Hauser. Rod was the third of eight children. He was married to Afton Ricks for 54 years. He became a trusted father and friend to her three sons. Rod and Afton were blessed to add three more wonderful children to their family. After Afton’s passing, he married Jane Wiser, his sweetheart for the past three years. His mantra was “if you don’t have family, you don’t have much”.
Rodney was a kind and giving man who enjoyed helping his kids and grandkids with home projects. He thoroughly enjoyed attending his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. He kept up a beautiful yard. He worked as a plumber with his father and son and throughout his working years. For two years he served our country in the Navy. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. As each new person entered his family through birth or marriage, he welcomed them with full acceptance and love. His siblings have been among his greatest friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Rod is survived by his wife, Jane, sisters Joan Krammer, Ronda Morrison, Mava Pitcher and brother Melvin “Pete” (Brenda). Children and their spouses Brent (Marilyn), Gary, Mike (Annie), Todd (Kelly), Tammy Reid (Toby). 20 grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Stephen; Jenny, Dustin, David, Nathan, Haley; Eric, Ashley, Francis, Mylene, Geraldine; Brendon, Caden, Devon, Rylee, Taylor; Casey, and Brittney. He is blessed with 31 great grandchildren with more on the way. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, sister Pauline Jenner, brothers Evan Max and Clair Parley, daughter Pattie Ann, granddaughter Morgan Anne.
A family memorial service was held on October 1, 2022 at Rodney’s Providence Ward building. Graveside service was at the Providence Cemetery. A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and aids who lovingly cared for him in his final days.
