Rod left us in the early morning hours of August 7, 2024. He was born January 7, 1975 in Ogden, Utah to Jo Ann Clark and Edward Ronald Toone. Rod was raised in Cache Valley Utah, and attended Logan City Schools. As a young boy, he joined the Cub Scouts and earned all four ranks of Cub Scouting and the Arrow of Light. When he moved on to Boy Scouts, he earned his Eagle Award, a Gold Palm, and the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Logan High School in 1993, where he lettered in wrestling. Shortly after graduation, Rod began work as a carpenter and framer, building homes and business buildings. His work took him across the country, building in many states including Connecticut, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Idaho, Utah, California, and Hawaii. Rod always made friends wherever he went, but he always came home. His Dream was always to end up back in Hawaii, where he had lived for eight years. He wanted to be able to surf and scuba dive again. Rod is survived by his parents of Logan, Utah; his two brothers Douglas Toone and Michael Toone; sister-in law Laura Toone; Doug’s two sons Elias Toone and Halen Toone; and Michael and Laura’s daughter Emmabel Toone (“Miss Em”).
The Family will hold a private burial for Rod at the Logan City Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life For Rod in Farr West, Utah at a later date to be announced.
