Ross D Hillyard, 66, passed away February 20, 2022 in Beaver Dam, AZ at the Sunshiners Retirement Community. Ross was born June 2, 1955 in Logan, Utah to Farrell and Carma Hillyard. Ross attended Summit Elementary, North Cache Junior High, and Sky View High School. He met Renee Seamons, the love of his life, while attending North Cache. They were married November 22, 1974 and later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. Ross worked at Cantwell Brothers Lumber, Wurlitzer, and Mountain Fuel/Questar Gas. He retired from Questar Gas in 2016 after 37 years of service. Ross and Renee raised their family in Smithfield, and after retiring, they spent winters in AZ. His favorite things were camping, being in the mountains, and enjoying side-by-side rides with his “Sweet Cheeks”, Renee. He could build or fix anything he got his hands on. He could always be found in his shop tinkering away, country music blaring, while he whistled along. He loved early mornings but needed his afternoon “snooze”. He was the first to help anyone in need, whether asked or not. Ross is loved by all and is survived by his wife Renee; father, Farrell Hillyard; three brothers, Steven (Linda) Hillyard, Rex Hillyard, and Kim (Lisa) Hillyard; 4 children, Judd (Tara) Hillyard, Emily (Kris) Bashaw, Melissa (Reese) Jenkins, and Rhonda (Rory) Hoth. He is loved and adored by 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carma Petersen Hillyard; father and mother-in-law, Tick and Rhonda Seamons; brother, Paul Hillyard, and sister Linda (Glen) Hill. We wish to thank Bradbury Memorial Center in Desert Hills, Arizona and Cache Valley Mortuary in Hyde Park for taking such great care of him. In honoring his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral. He said, “Everything anybody needs to know about me, they already know.” He will be buried in the Smithfield Cemetery.
