Talmage Andrew Thompson,Returned home to his Heavenly Parents on November 9, 2015. He was in his home in Franklin Idaho when he died of heart failure and other complications. Tal was born in Greenville South Carolina to Mildred Pauline Ginn and Ralph A. Thompson. After a divorce Mildred brought her four sons to Salt Lake City. At a very young age (17) he joined the United States Air Force, between his active duty and Reserves service he served our country, which he loved, for a total of 27 years. After his first years in the military he attended Weber State University for one semester before transferring to BYU where he graduated with a master’s degree in Physical Education for his career as a teacher.Tal taught Health and Drivers Education but his passion for sports drove his career as the high school coach for football, basketball and many others. He taught in Calfornia, Bicknel Utah and Cottonwood High School where he was named “Teacher of the Year” for five years. Tal loved his family as well as being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was married to Wanda Barzee from Salt Lake City and they had six children, three boys and three girls. Later in life he married DeAnne Metcalf from Idaho Falls, Idaho and between the two they had a total of nine children.Tal is survived by his wife of 27 years DeAnne Thompson, his brother Dewayne Thompson, sister Kathy A. Sunde, his children Rhonda McCloud (Micheal), Scott Thompson, Andrea Jenkins, Derrick Thompson, Mark Thompson (Jenny), and LouRee Thompson; his stepchildren Nancy Stuart (Ron), and Lincoln Albright. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren.Services will be held at the Franklin LDS Chapel, Franklin Idaho on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM and a viewing prior From 9:30 till 10:30 AM. Services are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary.
