Thomas George Arquette (Tom) from Hyrum, Utah, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the age of 75.
Tom was born to Thomas and Geraldine Arquette in Ellensburg, Washington. Tom's family included his parents, brother and sister. They ran the local General Store and Gas Station for many years in Brownstown, Washington, where Tom and his brother also ran a butcher shop for ten years.
Tom met and married Anna Lea Carlsen in 1981 in the Yakima Valley where they both lived at the time and where many of their family members still reside. After their wedding, the two of them decided to move to the Cache Valley, after being told to drive through the beautiful valley on the way home from their honeymoon. They believed it would be a great place to raise their family and make their home.
Tom worked as a meat cutter for most of his professional life, however at the time of his passing, he was working as a delivery driver for Advanced Auto Parts. Tom enjoyed his work and the friendships he made. Tom was known for his infectious smile, his laugh and endless stories of family and his sense of humor. Tom loved the outdoors, camping, picnics, cooking, fishing and long drives through the canyons of the Cache Valley.
Tom was an enrolled member of the Chinook Indian Tribe. He was very proud of his Native American heritage and always wore a Native Pride hat, turquoise rings, and cowboy boots. He loved to gift Native Pride beaded baseball caps to family and friends on special occasions.
Additionally, Tom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved to serve in his ward and in the Temple. He also loved his community and was a member of the Lions Club. He offered countless hours of dedicated service as President of the Smithfield Chapter, Zone Chairman and District Governor. Tom and Anna Arquette took many trips with the Lions Club including trips to Chicago and Puerto Rico. He received the highest award in the Lions, the Melvin Jones Fellowship.
Furthermore, Tom's greatest joy in life was his family. Tom and his wife, Anna, had a daughter Allison Mason, who brought Tom great joy and pride. Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and would always tell others about them; pictures of his family could always be found in his wallet. Tom's favorite pastime was being with his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. Tom was always in attendance at his granddaughters, Ambree and Hailey, dance performances and sporting events.
After the passing of his wife, Anna, in 2018, he was able to find love again and married Kathryn Bitton in 2021. He loved and treated her kids as his own.
