Thomas Lynn Moore

August 06, 1950 - January 31, 2025

Thomas Lynn Moore, 74, of Wellsville, Utah passed away after battling cancer on January 31, 2025 at home with his family. He was born to Raymond William Moore and Gladys Hadden on August 6, 1950, in Blackfoot, Idaho. He was the youngest of 17 children.

Dad joined the Navy in 1970-1974. During his time in the Navy he was stationed at Long Beach Naval Yard, Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam, and Philadelphia Naval Yard. During his sea duty and deployment to Vietnam, he was stationed on a mine sweeper. When he got out of the service his sister Marjorie Adams and her family were living in Wellsville. He called her and asked if he could stay with them, she said yes and the rest is history.

Dad and Mom met in Wellsville at the old purple church, at a church function. They married on March 28, 1975 and were sealed in the Ogden Temple on April 2, 1976. Dad never had time to himself. If he wasn’t at work at Thiokol for 25 years, he was mowing lawns with the boys, baseball, soccer, band and so many other activities. He served as the Mountain Crest Marching Band Booster President. Dad worked for USU as an usher/ticket taker at athletic events for many years. Dad was always a good example of how to live our lives, he taught us the importance of hard work and living with honor and integrity. One of his many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was in scouting which did for 19 years. He loved working with and teaching the youth of the wards that he lived in.

He was preceded in death by his great-grand daughter Darla Jean Moore-Smith, his parents Ray and Gladys Moore, parents in-law Marvin and Gene Lavon Maughan, brother Henry and sister in-law Alice, brothers Wayne and Ernie Moore, brother Ray Still, sister Edna Dunn, brother in-law and sister in-law Jerry and Charlene Maughan, sister in-law Marva Lund, brother in-law Kelly Maughan, brother in-law Steven Jensen and nephew Ammon Lund.

He is survived by his wife Darla, sons Dustin (Mary) Moore, Michael Moore, Nathaniel (Laura) Moore, Derrick (Melissa) Moore, sister Marjorie (Bob) Adams, sister Coleen Wilson, sister Lucy Bedwell, sister in-law Wendy (Terry) Lund, sister in-law Sheila Jensen, sister in-law Lucy Misrasi, brother in-law Alfred Benalli, 16 grand children,1 great grand child and many nieces and nephews that he held near and dear to his heart.
