Velda Seamons Cowley

Velda Seamons Cowley, 90, passed away peacefully December 13th, 2016. She was born December 13th, 1926to Ivan Valero and Mary Merrill Seamons. Born and raised in Hyde Park, Utah, she was the youngest of four daughters. She caught the love of her life’s eye, Duain Hughs Cowley, while singing in an assembly. They were married February 7th, 1945 during her senior year of high school. Velda later graduated from North Cache High School in 1945. Together they were blessed with three children. Velda and Duain lived a life of love on their farm in Benson Utah until he returned home April 24th, 1984.Family was the most important thing to Velda and she spent the remainder of her life finding as much time as possible to be with them.She was the most loving and kind person and never passed up an opportunity to serve.She was and excellent cook and loved to embroider and tie quilts. She is greatly loved and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived in death by her three children, DeAnne (Richard) Keller; Jay (Carol) Cowley, and Marleen Andersen; 16 grand children, 50 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildrenwith two more on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents , husband, sisters Glenna Stowell; Leone Layne; and Helen Jensen, grandsons Curtis Andersen and Jeremy Swenson.Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon Monday December 19th, 2016 at the Richmond 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 150 South 100 East Richmond Ut. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:00-11:30 AM.
