Veldon Claude (Todd) Goodey, of Clarkston, Utah, passed away on June 26, 2014, of congestive heart failure. He was 76. He was surrounded by his loving family. Todd was born in Logan, Utah, on April 26, 1938, to Richard Archie and Stella Kirstine Peterson Goodey, the youngest of 11 children. He was raised in a loving home where he was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. He strived to live those teachings his entire life. He served a three-year mission in Japan, helping establish the LDS Church among the Japanese people. Todd married Elaine Godfrey on June 15, 1962, in the Logan Temple. They were blessed with five children; Tim (Stacy) Goodey, Ted (Maja) Goodey, Terryl (Sheryl) Goodey, Teanna (Darrin) Michaelis, all of Clarkston, and Tonya (Mike) Wood of Perry, Utah. His life revolved around his children and grandchildren. He retired as an engineer from Thiokol after 30 years of service. With his wife, Elaine, he served a mission in Washington, D.C. He faithfully served as a temple officiator and in numerous church callings throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, his children and their spouses, and grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Fae, Mavis and LaDawn - as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Alma, Leo, and Pete; and four sisters: Lavona, June, Blanche, and Ina. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the Clarkston LDS meeting house, 25 E. 100 South. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Clarkston meeting house on Monday, June 30, with a viewing preceding from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Bishop Jason Godfrey will preside.
