Virginia Seamons Malmberg, 95, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 of natural causes at Autumn Care Assisted Living.
Virginia was born December 25, 1926 in Hyde Park, Utah to Asa King Seamons and Violet Mikkelsen. She attended school at Hyde Park Elementary School, Smithfield Jr. High, and North Cache High School. She met John Lynn Malmberg, the love of her life, and dated while writing letters as he served in Guam. They married on September 24, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. John’s teaching career took them first to Carbon County and Helper, Utah for three years and then to Murray, Utah for a teaching career of 17 years. They resided in Salt Lake City where Virginia worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company for 9 years. She served as Stake Ensign, Laurel Leader and in various Grant Seventh Ward callings. On July 3, 1971 her husband passed away and she and their children moved to Hyde Park, Utah.
For 16 years she served at the Logan Temple as a Family File Clerk. Her family was her pride and joy. She was blessed with loving parents who helped her through the years. She enjoyed making many afghans for her grandchildren. Birthdays and other special events with her grandchildren brought her great joy. She served in various callings in the Church while living in Hyde Park. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her children, John Eric Malmberg (Faye) and Lisa Malmberg Peterson (Rod); her grandchildren, Shannon, Caden and Josilyn; six great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Mervin and JoeAnn Thompson and Clyde Poppleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and in-laws. She was blessed with many special cousins, aunts, uncles, good neighbors, and friends whom she loved and appreciated.
Services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2 PM at Cache Valley Mortuary located at 80 West 4200 North in Hyde Park, Utah.
