Wanda June Adams was born May 29, 1951 to William Leslie Adams and Emma Irene Adams (born Arrington), in Portland, Oregon. The family soon moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where Emma had family.
Wanda grew up and attended elementary school, junior high, and finally graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1969. She then attended Mr. Juan's School of Hair Design and graduated. She passed Idaho State Cosmetology boards on her first attempt, earning her Cosmetology License in the state of Idaho. Wanda also worked at Twin Falls Memorial Hospital as a Housekeeper to supplement her income.
In summer of 1972, she met Dane Jensen, a returned missionary, at an L.D.S. Institute party. They soon started dating, and after a school year of long distance romance, they got engaged. In August of 1973, Dane and Wanda were married for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They moved to Logan, Utah where Dane was attending college at Utah State University. Wanda worked as a waitress at Fred's Burger Chalet, and later at J.B.'s Big Boy Restaurant in Logan to support the family. During this time Wanda became pregnant with her first baby.
The couple moved to Craig, Colorado for the summer where Dane was employed by Utah International, Inc. Wanda showed what a flair she had for managing a home, having to move several times during the summer of 1973. The family moved back to Logan where she delivered their first baby, Cristen, in November of 1974. She was the first of seven beautiful children that Wanda delivered into the world.
During these years, Wanda was the manager of the Swenson Apartments owned ultimately by U.S.U. Housing, with a little help from Dane. After about ten years of this, the family purchased a home in Lewiston, Utah where she resided until her death.
Wanda was preceded in death by both of her parents, William Leslie and Emma Irene Arrington Adams, her oldest sister, Barbara Jean Fulman (Bill), and her oldest son, Shaun Elcanna Jensen (Linda). She is survived by her three brothers Terry Adams (Susan), Richard Adams (Shelley), and William (Patti), and four sisters Liz Brooks (Gary), Gail Sass (Stephen), Alice Hernandez, and Delores Garcia. She is also survived by six children: Cristen Fischl (Dave), Alise Love (Herbie), Rachel Wirth (Jeffery), Brian Jensen (Betsie), Brock Jensen, and Damion Jensen (Treya). At last count, Wanda had eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson.
Wanda was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving valiantly in many callings throughout the years: She was a Visiting Teacher, Relief Society Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, and Primary Teacher. She also served as a Cub Scout Pack Assistant Cubmaster.
She left a legacy of love for others, especially children. She could often be seen holding and cuddling a fussy baby, giving mom a break, even before she had children of her own. Of all the callings and jobs Wanda worked at, the calling of “mother” was the one she loved the most. Wanda will be sorely missed by all who knew her!
