William Duane Parker

March 3, 1926 — December 31, 2017

Duane 91 passed away December 31, 2017 in Logan, Utah. Duane was born March 3,1926 in Newton, Utah to William Henry Parker and Meda Lucille Jenkins, he was the oldest of three children. He wed his sweetheart, B. Rosslyn Hurst on June 24, 1947 for eternity in the Logan Temple. They had five children. Duane served in WWII, in Italy with the 10th Mountain Division. He was awarded a Bronze Star for action on Riva Ridge. Duane held many church callings, his favorite was serving in the scouting program. Duane and Rosslyn served a Public Relations Mission in South Carolina and a Church Historical Site Mission in St. George, Utah. His occupations included butcher and grocery store clerk, milkman, Wonder Bread deliveryman, and retired in 1990 from a 34 year salesman career with Gerber Baby Foods.He is survived by his brother Boyd (Venice), his 5 children: Bill (Cheron), Peggy Hall (Larry), Clark (Christy), Todd (Wendy), Doug (Stacy), 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Duane found great joy in his posterity.Duane is preceded in death by his beloved Rosslyn, his parents, a bother (Larry Parker), and a grandson (Nathan Parker).Thanks to those from Rocky Mountain Care and others that provided care and comfort over the past several years.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 6, 2017 in the Newton LDS Church, 90 South 100 West, Newton. Viewing will be held Friday evening Jan. 5, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the church and on Saturday morning 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the same church.
