LOGAN UTAH -- Winona Olsen Barrett, 65, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 5, 2015, at IMC Murray. She was the seventh of nine children born to Lynn Jay and Merle Barrus Olsen. Winona was born June 12, 1950, twelve minutes before her twin, Ramona, and always enjoyed being "a little older." Winona graduated from Logan High in 1969. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served a mission to northern California, where she made life-long friends. She especially loved being Primary chorister, and teaching carefully prepared Primary lessons. She met her husband-to-be, Patrick Shea Barrett, in Pacifica, California. They were married in Golden Gate Park, April 24, 1982. They were blessed with a daughter, Emily Lynn, and a son, Patrick Quinlan, and continued to live in northern California for thirty years. They moved to Logan two years ago, and made many precious memories with her family in Utah. Winona was a gifted photographer, with an artistic eye for taking meaningful pictures. Many lives have been blessed by her caring heart and generosity. She is survived by her husband, Patrick, of Logan; daughter Emily, Cincinatti, Ohio; son, Patrick Quinlan, Medford, Oregon; and her siblings and their spouses: Colleen (LaVel deceased) Davis, Logan; Merlin (deceased) (Susan) Olsen, Pasadena, Calif; Clark (Fawn) Olsen, Weiser, Idaho; Lorraine Elzinga, American Fork; Gwen (Roy) Saltern, Logan; Phil (Connie) Olsen, Bozeman, Montana; Ramona (Ralph) Whitaker, South Jordan; and Orrin (Sandy) Olsen, Alpine. There will be a graveside service at Logan Cemetery for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Four-Paws-Rescue-Logan-Utah-The-Cats-Lair, or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary.
